Katie/Caidy takes over!!!

Hey everyone! It's Katie this time. Whether you're aware of it or not, you all already know who I am, like a sister, or a beloved pet. If I were to walk down the street and strike a pose, you would say "Wow, that looks so familiar, where have I seen that before?" And then, it would hit you. Yes, that's right. I'm on the cover of Rain. (Actually, if you guessed that, I would be impressed, and wonder if you go to Watson with your amazing deduction skills.) Kieryn asked me to guest on her blog because she is lazy and didn't want to do it herself. (Just kidding, she's actually working on her new novel, for which I can personally vouch awesomeness.) So, here it goes.

Now, for those of you who have read the book (if you don't know what book I'm talking about, I'll wonder why you're on this blog at all...), you'll completely understand this post. For those of you who haven't, go buy one. You don't even have to go anywhere, and you're already on the internet, so how hard could it really be?

Anyways, I have to tell you a secret (which I guess isn't a secret anymore, but that's ok). Not only am I Katie, the model, I am Caidy, the awesome (insert your own adjective here) character in Rain. Most people wouldn't particularly enjoy having the somewhat villainous character based on them, but really I'm ok with it. In fact, when Kieryn admitted this to me, I kinda freaked out; I hugged her.

Waaaayyy back in the days of middle school, Kieryn and I had math together. Fun, right? NO. Here I was, in 6th grade dorky innocence just looking for a friend, in a class of mostly 7th graders. Somehow, I was able to pick out another dorky 6th grader: Kieryn. You would think we'd bond right? Again, NO. She was able to pick me out too, but not as someone who she would be friends with; instead, someone who would she would rather hate upon sight.

We went along this way for about a year and a half. Really, I never knew Kieryn hated me. I was still my sweet, innocent self, and I made friends with the other 6th graders. Kieryn however, went slightly overboard with the "I-really-don't-like-Katie" mantra she had taken up. There were stories, (Kieryn was a writing prodigy even then), and I almost always had awful names like "Nervom." What kind of a name is Nervom? (Of course, I didn't find out about these names until later, when we were friends. Yes, we actually became friends. Seems unlikely at this point, right?)

Then, Kieryn turned 13. Overnight, she wised up, and I was invited to her party. Really, since then, we've been really good friends. However, the memories of the evil me stuck around, and if that's what gives a good antagonist, awesome, I now have a character based off of me.

Now, we laugh about the misjudgements, and view my sarcastic, outgoing self as cool, not annoying and stuck up. But still watch out for me in future stories, I'll be back, I promise.

I posted on Teen-Seen today!

Also, I think my amazing artist of a sister is going to draw a scene from RAIN or the novel I'm currently working on... I'll upload the picture asap! I'm way too excited about it :)

I had my first book signing today!....Except for the part where I was signing CDs and not books ;) I sold eBooks on CDs with awesome litescribed covers. Pretty fun! Plus, I had balloons.

Did you know that you don't need a Kindle or Nook or any other eReader to read RAIN? You can read the pdf version right on your computer, or email it to yourself and open it on an iTouch/iPhone. Or, if you have the Kindle version, there's a free Kindle app that lets you read it on an iTouch/iPhone as well, as well as one for the computer.

I have a new RAIN video in the works... should be up soon!
